Why Pick Us?

To put it simply, we know what we’re doing.  Choosing a remodeling company can be a daunting task for many clients, but it doesn’t have to be.  It is true that getting multiple bids can give you peace of mind and a general idea of what’s out there, but there is no mathematical equation that is going to get you the best job.

The Three Bid Myth:

Call around and make appointments with contractors. Get three bids. Choose middle bid. Get bang for buck.

The real way that list should end is, “Get what you pay for.” Is the “middle price” company really the company who will build the best quality project for the “best” price?  More often than not the area in which corners are cut to give you the “middle price” is the area of service.  Is that something you are willing to live with for weeks or maybe months?  The bitterness of poor quality remains long after the sweetness of a low price is forgotten.

Remodeling is not remotely like car buying:

When purchasing a new car, you are purchasing a product. You can ask three dealers to price a specific make and model car and be fairly certain you are comparing the same products. This is precisely why bid shopping works well for automobiles, but runs a high risk for a building project. The products, quality of workmanship, service, timeliness, and warranty can differ significantly. When purchasing a car you can see what it looks like and take it for a test-drive to see how it feels.  Unfortunately you won’t be able to take your new kitchen out for a spin before you sign the contract.  With a building project, you’re purchasing a design concept and you don’t see the finished project until well after the contract is signed.

So What’s a Guy to Do?

We’d like to say that Gandalf is always the right answer. Unfortunately, even doing that isn’t that easy. The best way for you to hire a company is through a thorough interview process. Just as you wouldn’t expect a job interview to begin by negotiating salary, hiring a remodeling company should not be any different.  Before you get to compensation, you want to be sure you have a qualified applicant, right?

We encourage you to see what is out there and ask all the questions that come to mind.  If the remodeling company passes your grueling interview process, don’t stop there. Ask for a list of references and interview them, too!  We hope that you will see the value and craftsmanship that we offer, but most of all we hope that your decision-making process is not so much arduous as it is exciting and enjoyable.  Happy building!
